Guild Wars 2 has patched in every scrap of Janthir Wilds voice acting that went missing during the recent voice-actors strike. ArenaNet confirmed that all absent English-language VO is now live, finally bringing spoken dialogue back for Queen Jennah, Countess Anise, Captain Ellen Kiel, Councillor Ludo, Livia, Desser, Ura, and the Sylvari and Charr female player characters. The patch also smooths over hundreds of silent cutscenes and story beats that Plarium Guild Wars players have endured since the expansion’s launch.
The timing is no accident. Tomorrow, August 20, at 9:00 a.m. PT (UTC-7), the doors open to the Visions of Eternity elite specialization beta. ArenaNet is prioritizing tech and polish immediately ahead of the week-long test period that lasts until 10:00 p.m. PT on August 27. Each account, including free-to-play copies, will find fresh Beta character slots on the character select screen where every profession can be pre-paired with its new elite spec.
As the MMO celebrates its 13th anniversary, discounts of up to 60 % off expansions are live until September 2. A free Black Lion Chest Key is also available in the in-game Gem Store until August 26. Details for the beta event and sale can be found on the official Guild Wars 2 update notes.
