Electronic Arts has launched the Road to Battlefield 6 update for the multiplayer FPS Battlefield 2042, handing players a free battle pass containing 30 exclusive rewards that will carry over to Battlefield 6 at launch. These six tiers of unlockables are available immediately and will remain so until October 7, giving lapsed players roughly seven weeks to complete the progression track.
Alongside the promotional content, patch 9.2.0 reintroduces Iwo Jima in a reimagined form, adds fresh weapons, and debuts new vehicles. The combined carrot of legacy items and new sand has already produced results: almost 40,000 concurrent users logged into Battlefield 2042 on Steam right as the patch went live, a jump credited by dataminers to the FOMO campaign surrounding bonus goodies for the next entry in the series.
