Out of Time: Co-op Roguelike Debuts Explosive Gameplay Trailer at Gamescom 2025

The co-op roguelike Out of Time has released a full gameplay trailer to celebrate its Gamescom spotlight, confirming that launch day is locked in for September 25, 2025. The two-minute video showcases run-and-gun combat that jumps across centuries, letting squads of up to four players raid futuristic bunkers, medieval keeps and Wild-West towns in the same session.

Each procedurally assembled run is built around volatile loadouts. Players chain assault rifles, plasma crossbows and flintlock pistols on a shared “heat bar”; keep firing and your guns glow red-hot, gaining burst damage at the cost of an explosive jam that forces an emergency cooldown. Death resets the clock and the map, but newly earned “chrono-blueprints” carry forward, allowing progression toward weapon variants and class abilities that persist across eras.

The game’s developers, SneakyBox Studios, are treating it as a live-service looter at heart: every season will introduce new time periods and boss factions, plus a rotating “Paradox Event” modifier that ups loot rarity while warping the rules of physics. Wishlists and day-one installs will be handled exclusively through Epic Games Store, where a beta weekend for influencers and press kicks off immediately after Gamescom closes.

If the trailer is any gauge, squad synergy will revolve around mixing tech and era-specific ultimates—think Neolithic shaman AoEs juicing cyber-mage chain lightning—while dodging environmental hazards like artillery summoned out of a wormhole two rooms ahead. The production budget may be indie, but the ambition is pure MMO loop: grind, loot, reset, build, and do it faster tomorrow.
