MapleStory Unveils 2025 Roadmap: Public Test Server, Class Revamps, and Classic World Playtest Revealed

MapleStory is preparing a trio of major shake-ups that will directly reshape how the 2-D side-scrolling MMORPG is played in 2025 and beyond. CPO Hanbyeol Oh has outlined exactly what time-starred heroes should block in their calendars.

A long-requested public test server is finally on the way; Nexon confirmed the PTS will open sometime during the first half of 2026 to let everyone stress future patches and avoid the recent spate of live-server issues. Until then, the 2025 game plan unfolds over three key updates.

August 27 introduces the Legion Champion system for faster account-wide growth and brings back the Midnight Carnival event. September 24 delivers a sweeping job-skill revamp that equalises every class’s burst window to two minutes, adds a new end-tier boss fight, unlocks upgrades from Genesis to Destiny weapons, and ships a complete UI overhaul.

Winter then turns to comfort-seeking players with universal level-three link skills, augmented gear-recovery paths, growth assistants, and handy toggles such as bulk reward-box opening and favourite-event tracking.

Nexon is also feeding nostalgia with its MapleStory Classic World, first teased in April. While no release date was given, the studio has published raw footage from a closed North-American playtest showing veterans battling the old Victoria Island bosses.
