Elder Scrolls Online fans mark your calendars: on 18 August 2025 both the Feast of Shadows dungeon pack and the free base-game Update 47 arrive, bringing boats that gallop and music you play as a party.
The second new four-player instance revealed this week is Naj-Caldeesh, an ancient Argonian xanmeer once erased from the maps. Designers say players will navigate trap-laden halls, purge necromancer forces and even resurrect a colossal four-player pipe organ called the vossa-saxtl, whose notes can echo through the entire ruin and reward coordinated groups with yet-unspecified loot benefits.
For those who prefer Tamriel above land and sea, all existing mounts will finally swim. Rivers in Shadowfen, the canals of Vvardenfell and the island approaches of upcoming chapters can be crossed without dismounting, though slaughterfish still spell danger for careless riders.
Update 47 also adds a replay button for every NPC conversation, stackable survey maps, easier Infinite Archive rerolls, and performance tweaks that console and PC players can download at no extra cost. The patch drops at the same minute the Naj-Caldeesh dungeon and its twin Black Gem Foundry go live in the in-game Crown Store.
