Cinder City Unveils Massive MMO Shooter with 7x7km Open World and Dynamic Endgame

NCsoft’s Cinder City has confirmed its identity as a large-scale MMO shooter set in a seamless 7×7 km open-world city that will host hundreds of players simultaneously. BigFire Games CEO Jaehyun Bae told WCCFTech that the core loop revolves around 10-player world bosses, matchmade instanced dungeons with mechanically demanding bosses, and dynamic events threaded through side stories.

Players will choose from seven to nine pre-built heroes, each bringing unique abilities; load-outs are further defined by tactical weapons that can either widen or restrict skill access. Post-launch plans already include new dungeons and additional characters, while the studio has yet to lock in a business model. An open beta is pencilled for early-to-mid 2026, with no firm launch window beyond that.
