Palia’s Of Barns & Briars Update Unleashes Ranching and Multi-Level Housing

Palia’s Of Barns & Briars update is live today, adding the long-awaited ranching skill and a suite of housing upgrades that let players breed and raise livestock while expanding their plots vertically for the first time. Starting immediately, every housing plot can host chicken-like Peki, hopping Ormuu, honey-carrying Bumbles, and woolly Trufflet pigs that grow from infants to adults and pass inherited traits to the next generation. Alongside the new livestock system, patch 1.95 introduces Home Lines modular building pieces that support multi-level patios, staircases, and witch-themed décor straight from Tamala’s catalog, giving decorators more vertical space without additional land purchases.

The patch also kicks off Palia’s Fall Fantasy seasonal cadence, promising larger drops tied to real-world seasons. Even non-ranchers get immediate reasons to log in: a fresh Gardener questline unrelated to plants, 200 rotating dailies, and tailor tickets that convert excess materials into premium cosmetics. Server-side, the seasonal framework is designed to reduce downtime between major milestones, ensuring the world feels busier year-round.

Ranching itself functions as a full crafting discipline, granting skill XP for feeding, breeding, and harvesting animals, with rare color variants locked behind high friendship levels. Feed recipes drop from standard activities like fishing and bug catching, so existing resource loops feed directly into the new economy. Housing enthusiasts, meanwhile, can stack prefab rooms, archways, and balconies without the old plot-boundary restrictions, opening the door to split-level workshops, loft bedrooms, and rooftop apiaries.

Fall Fantasy continues later this year with a winter update already in testing, but today’s build is available to all players the moment they patch up.
