Vana’diel defenders will want to mark their calendars: the next Final Fantasy XI version update lands later this month, bringing its first meaningful reward overhaul to September’s revitalised Besieged clashes. Square Enix confirmed that Imperial Standing will soon be exchanged for entirely new gear, giving veterans a concrete reason to repel beastmen on the Al Zahbi front for the first time since the mode’s recent AI upgrade.
The studio’s official preview post also details a complementary refresh of Limbus. Players can expect fresh notorious-monster spawns that scale from solo careers to full alliances, streamlined race-and-gender equipment reclamation, faster mount acquisition quests, additional inventory missions and a fame-system tune-up. Together the changes aim to keep the two-decade-old MMORPG’s end-game loop relevant ahead of the upcoming autumn event season.
