DECA Games is polling Neverwinter players on the prospect of a Neverwinter Classic server that would revert the free-to-play MMORPG to its original 2013 mechanics and meta, according to a community-wide email that landed this week. The survey, first reported by MMO Bomb and echoed on Reddit, stresses that no commitment has been made, but asks veterans when they first played, when they left, and whether a pristine ruleset would bring them back.
At the same time the publisher is gauging appetite for old-school sword-and-sorcery, it is pushing Star Trek Online deeper into the 25th century with the freshly unveiled Voth Stronghold Miracle Worker Dreadnought Cruiser [T6]. The hull, showcased in yesterday’s livestream, pairs tank-grade survivability with Voth-inspired visuals and will be earnable during the PC-only Voth Invictus event now running through the end of the month. Both moves illustrate DECA’s twin strategy of mining nostalgia while feeding endgame appetites across its twin acquired Cryptic properties.
