Gamescom 2025 Roundup: New Co-op Roguelike and Extraction RPGs Revealed

The final Gamescom 2025 indie wave delivers tangible updates for persistent world hunters awaiting three aggressive co-op titles.

Hyper Light Breaker, the 2024 early access multiplayer roguelike from Heart Machine, now runs the Double Down patch. The build inserts a fresh end-game boss, a second playable class, extra procedural Points of Interest, and a post-loop glitch system that multiplies difficulty modifiers. Owners can pull the patch immediately through Steam.

Active Matter, Gaijin Entertainment’s time-bending PvPvE extraction shooter, sneaks open a paid PC-only closed version on September 9. Access is sold exclusively through the Gaijin Store; Steam Early Access and all console versions remain locked until sometime in 2026.

Wolcen Studio finally ends confusion over its project code-name: Project Pantheon is officially Gods, Death & Reapers, a grimdark PvPvE extraction ARPG. A new lore trailer premiered at the convention, though no alpha or launch windows surfaced. Interested parties can opt-in for future tests on Steam.
