Gamigo has laid out its near-term development roadmap for Trove while launching the Block Party update, insisting that gameplay drives every patch even as players question the balance between monetization and community requests.
In the September community letter the studio says features such as the recent tutorial overhaul, the enemy-packed Trials of Luxion mode and the new combat-block system that curbs one-shot deaths were all designed “around gameplay improvements first,” with store items added later to keep the free-to-play voxel MMORPG sustainable. The letter also teases crystal 5 rings and a broader badge system for loyalty points “further down the road.”
Block Party, now live, introduces a new tier of mystic gems, melee-friendly balance tweaks for Gunslinger, Chloromancer and Vanguardian, and a tongue-in-cheek faction war that has the player-base voting on whether grapes count as health food or candy. Progressing through the event yields Proof of Vote currencies used to craft exclusive rewards, with the winning side determined by total grapes fed to NPCs before the event ends.
An accompanying anniversary infographic reveals that PC users dominated the recent piñata bash, Trovians collectively died 3.5 million times during festivities, and the most-played classes right now are Shadow Hunter, Boomeranger and Knight.
