Entropia Universe Overhauls New Player Onboarding and Revamps PvP Oil Rig Dynamics

MindArk is preparing two sets of changes that could materially affect day-to-day life for every Entropia Universe resident. The first overhaul replaces the aging Thule starter zone with Setesh, a brand-new map built to showcase the sandbox’s open-world systems from the moment a character spawns. Newcomers will meet “living NPCs” that follow daily schedules and be offered dynamic missions that appear on-the-fly; both mechanics are scheduled to roll out planet-wide in later patches. A refreshed character-creation flow and a smoother onboarding path on Calypso are also penciled in, although no release date has been given for any of the starter upgrades.

For players who head straight to contested ground, the low-level PvPvE oil rigs are being retooled. MindArk intends to stop mob-training abuse by preventing creatures from being dragged into the extraction area, will allow ground and air vehicles across the zone except at the exact oil-spawn points, and plans to triple the oil output at the Ashi rig while reopening the previously shuttered Orthos site. These balance tweaks are penciled in for “an upcoming release,” but the studio has not attached a patch number or calendar slot.

The announcements arrive only weeks after Entropia’s July Steam debut, a move designed to widen the funnel ahead of these very changes. Whether the overhauled onboarding and faster early loot can dent the “mixed” user sentiment now visible on the store page will become clear once the updates reach the live servers.
