Star Citizen’s August Update Unveils Freight Elevator Fixes, New Medical Ships, and Multiplayer Crafting

Cloud Imperium Games has released its monthly development report for August 2025, highlighting progress on core systems and new content for Star Citizen ahead of alpha 4.3. Developers finalized updates for the patch launch, including fixes for long-standing freight elevator bugs that rendered elevators unusable and tools to streamline future debugging.

Several gameplay loops are advancing beyond the 4.3 cutoff. Medical ship mechanics received attention with the introduction of a required MedGel consumable for respawning and a smoother revival flow. Multiplayer crafting moved from concept to first prototype, supported by offline blueprint storage. Engineering stations gained new interface options, while destroyed ship components now degrade progressively instead of failing outright, and claimed hulls can have specific parts deliberately disabled.

Vessel production continued across multiple hulls. The Anvil Paladin, Drake Ironclad and Ironclad Assault, MISC Hull-B, and Apollo Medivac/Triage progressed through grey-box and art passes. Legacy models for the RSI Aurora and Aegis Hammerhead were brought up to current quality standards, and work quietly began on an unannounced medical ship.

The economy team tuned trade values and inventory filters, while AI designers refined both on-foot and ship-based behaviors. Narrative content expanded inside the new Onyx facilities, adding context to the recently released creepy outposts. The combined changes represent steady iteration on systems that directly affect day-to-day play, although no release window for the next quarterly patch was provided.
