Standing Stone Games is using an extended maintenance window to push the final back-end pieces of Lord of the Rings Online’s new 64-bit environment into place after weeks of performance hiccups. Executive Producer Rob Ciccolini promised players that these moves should deliver better stability in crowded zones and allow devs to monitor the entire ecosystem in one unified space. The studio has also completed the shutdown of all remaining 32-bit servers, and character transfers from those dead worlds to Arkenstone, Onodrim and other active 64-bit servers are expected “once things are green-lit.” Meanwhile the annual Farmer’s Faire event runs through 8 September, giving leveling adventurers and decorating enthusiasts additional time to grab new steeds, outfits and extra seasonal Merchant Tokens. The game is scheduled to return live with adjustments sometime after evening UTC hours.
